Forgot The Ten was formed as a conceptual project in 2014 by the guitarists Dimitar Dimitrov and Emil Vassilev for new original music on the contemporary Bulgarian rock and metal scene. Very soon they were joined by Stoycho Mitev – bass and Dimitar Dimitrov – vocals, and Georgi Nikolaev took over the drums. The name “Forgot The Ten” is provoking and evokes associations and curiosity on the listeners. One of the most frequently asked questions to the group is: “What does the name mean?”, “Is the name of the group related to the ten commandments?”, etc., which cannot be answered unambiguously, because there is no such answer. The answer is left to the abstraction and perceptions of the ordinary listener. Gradually, the style of the group began to took shape, as a combination of heterometric melodies, followed by ominous and heavy-sounding guitars, melodic solos, thunderous progressive metal and memorable metal riffs. This turned the group into one of the most beloved at festivals and even at private events. Almost immediately, the band began working on the realization of their own original ideas and very soon “Forgot The Ten” released a demo of the song “Spirit of rock”, which quickly became a hit and after its huge success the group started its own YouTube channel. A period followed in which the guys created the songs “Brown stamp”, “Empty”, “Posoka”, but parted ways with the drummer Georgi and Emil Dimitrov took his place. In this lineup, the band performed a number of concerts in the country and created some of its most memorable songs, such as: “Warriors of the rock”, “Running stupid”, “Horseshoe”, the ballads “Revelation” and “Fairytale”, “The Way”, etc., which would later become part of the debut album, with the working title “The Way”.
Striving for ever even greater musical heights, the guys from the band came to the conclusion that someone else should take the drums. Thus, Slavi Georgiev joined the band, who took on this responsible task, and in this line-up, the band members created the unforgettable song “Kings of Stone” – a song with an epic sound, dedicated to the Bulgarian kings.
After 4 years, Forgot The Ten started working on their debut album, called “The Way”, the idea was that the album would include not only studio recordings, but also individual isolated tracks and lyrics. The path the boys have taken seems to be the right one and the direction is right. The first officially recorded song, “Point of existence”, immediately became a monthly winner in “Reynaers Rock Tramplin”. The work on recording the album did not prevent the band from continuing their club and festival gigs. After Radio Z Rock’s campaign for original music, the band performed some of their songs at the finals of “Wacken Open Air Bulgaria”, and the participation in “Happy Land Fest” with the incredible “Primal Fear” was a special event and a clear sign that the band is on the path to success. The next big event – “Shumen Rock 2018” was no surprise to anyone. The band was chosen as a co-headliner with the great “Bonfire”. Due to a canceled flight, “Bonfire” was unable to arrive and the heavy responsibility for the performance as a headliner fell to “Forgot The Ten”.
Dealing with this difficult task, the guys focused solely on recording the long-awaited album “The Way”, including most of the band’s favorite and familiar songs. However, in the process of work, contradictions arose between the band members and they parted ways with Emil Vassilev, and a little later with the drummer Slavi Georgiev. Remaining with three of their permanent members, Forgot The Ten did not stop working on new original projects. Very soon, Alexander Todorov, who is also their current drummer, joined them, and in this line-up in 2024, they released their debut album “The Way”. Currently, Forgot The Ten is working on new compositions, united by a common concept, telling a shocking human drama. Starting with five members, going through many ups and downs, currently Forgot The Ten are ready to continue their struggle, defend their principles and pursue their goal, for the sake of their fans and the music they create. And whether that is the case, only time will tell!
